Cost of living crisis impacts our most vulnerable
At Celsius our livelihood comes about by creating homes for people to either rent or buy and yet each year it seems so many more West Australians are finding it increasingly difficult to stay in a home or find a roof over their head. Whilst we all see those that are homeless at most traffic lights, too many every day West Aussies are currently couch surfing or sleeping in their car whilst trying to hold down a job.
Celsius believes it is our responsibility to raise both awareness and funds to support great organisations that turn up each and every day to support our most vulnerable.
We are doing this in 3 ways:
- Homes for Homes – Alma Square North Perth will be donating 0.1% of sales revenue to Homes for Homes and encouraging our Buyers to sign up to donate 0.1% when they sell one day.
- Vinnies CEO Sleepout – this year I will be participating in my 9th Vinnies CEO Sleepout and look forward to others from within the Property Industry joining Team UDIA WA to share the experience.
- Active engagement with homeless – going old school and using a little cash from time to time so you get a few coins to hand out along your travels
Homes for Homes – a simple solution
Celsius is a proud partner of Homes for Homes ensuring we give back to those struggling to place a roof over their head. For every apartment sale at Alma Square North Perth, Celsius will donate 0.1% of the sale price to Homes for Homes. Buyers can keep this donation on the property title when they sell the property in years to come too. This donation and future contributions to Homes for Homes from homes at Alma Square help provide funding for social and affordable housing projects across Western Australia.
Homes for Homes is an independent, generational initiative which provides a simple and scalable way for the entire community to work together to tackle Australia’s social and affordable housing crisis. Homes for Homes is based on the concept of ‘Housing First’ – an effective evidence-based model that is now widely accepted as the optimal strategy to end homelessness in Australia. Providing a house first is the priority, as housing is the key ingredient for stabilising underlying issues – such as mental health and addiction.
Vinnies CEO Sleepout – 26th June 2025
Let’s see how many Property Leaders we can get to join this year’s CEO sleepout which is an incredibly rewarding event that raises much needed funds and awareness.
Vinnies has a number of programs to assist those that are homeless and those that are experiencing cost of living pressures:
- Vinnies WA’s Specialist Community Services help people by providing housing and accommodation options, including short-term crisis accommodation, transitional housing, medium to longer-term community housing, accessible housing for people living with a chronic mental health diagnosis and specialist homelessness services.
- Vinnies WA’s Emergency Assistance Program helps people to avoid homelessness by providing information, advocacy, food or food vouchers, clothing, furniture, budget support, assistance with utility bills or educational costs.
- Nationally Vinnies advocates for improved housing accessibility. Housing is vital to wellbeing and is associated with better outcomes in health, education and employment and economic and social participation. It helps reduce poverty and enhances equality of opportunity, social inclusion and mobility.
- For the people we assist, the lack of pathways out of temporary housing stops them from getting on with their lives, looking for a job, studying and/or taking care of themselves or other family members.
- Vinnies is actively advocating for policies that improve housing affordability, security, safety and energy efficiency.

Finally, I’d like to encourage us all to take time to engage with someone that might be experiencing homelessness to perhaps lend a hand, a dollar or just an ear.
Together we can make the world of difference.
All the very best
