It’s fantastic to see the building finally coming out of the ground as the first floor slab takes shape.
I stated in last month’s update that the builder was aiming to have the first half of the first floor slab poured by the end of July. Unfortunately, the wet weather during the month delayed those plans.
In an attempt to make up the time lost due to the wet weather the construction methodology for the first floor slab was amended slightly to have the slab poured in three pours rather than the originally planned two. The first of those three pours has occurred, the second is due to occur in the second week of August, with the third and final planned towards the end of August.
During the latter part of August, work will also commence on the columns and precast panels which will support the second floor slab and the aim is to have part of the second floor slab formed with the aim of hopefully pouring it in the last few days of August.
I have also included a photo from inside the basement. The propping will remain in place until its planned removal date being late September.
