With fine weather and no more limestone being encountered, March resulted in great progress being made onsite.
The installation of the stormtech cells and the inground services which are both located on the lower level of basement 2 were completed. The builder then constructed the retaining wall which divides the lower level of basement 2 from the upper level of basement 2. Once the retaining wall was completed, the sand that had been stockpiled in the corner of the site was able to be moved around to create the pad for the upper level ground slab and the vehicle ramp from basement 2 to basement 1. Basement 2’s lower level ground slab was then formed and poured.
Works have now commenced on preparing the exposed pilings for shotcreting, with shotcreting to commence next week.
The builder is now also commencing construction of the remaining columns which are located on the upper level of basement 2, with several of the footings already dug out and reo laid.
The focus during April will be to complete the upper level slab of basement 2, shotcrete all of basement 2, complete the remaining columns and then start forming up basement 1’s suspended slabs.
