Park Terraces – May Update 2021
Progress during the month included pouring the remainder of the first-floor slab for terraces 7 to 12. The bricklayers constructed the party walls between terraces 1 to 6, which has allowed the 2nd floor formwork to be erected. The bricklayers then moved onto the party walls between terraces 7 to 12 and completed the remaining brickwork for ground floor walls of terraces 11, 12 and the bin store.
It is a relief to have the brickwork that was on the critical path now completed, as it was due to the shortage of bricklayers that resulted in most of the delays to the program.
Construction has also commenced on the internal timber framing for terraces 1 to 6 and the plumbing and electrical chasing of the walls has also commenced.
The builder’s focus for June will be to fully pour the 2nd floor slab and make good progress on the internal timber framing and chasing of walls for all the ground floor.
The builder is doing what they can, without compromising on quality, to make up lost time on the program. They are still aiming for a February 2022 completion but hoping to reduce the timeframe.
