Southlink June 2017 Update
We are pleased to report that construction of Stage 1 of the Southlink development is now fully completed, with KFC, Hungry Jack’s and Caltex currently open for business and Autobahn, Pizza Craft, Smoke & Grill and Cheesecake Shop due to open in the near future.
Autobahn has nearly completed its fitout and is due to open in July. Smoke & Grill has recently commenced its fitout and is due to open in August. Pizza Craft is due to commence its fitout in July/August. The final tenant in the S5 building is the Cheesecake Shop who is currently waiting on their approvals from the City of Cockburn.
A condition of the development approval was that the footpath along Armadale Rd and the crossover from Armadale Rd were to be upgraded at the developers expense. The developer is still waiting, some 3 months after the plans were submitted, for Mains Roads to approve the plans for these upgrades. It is for this reason that the Armadale Rd verge has not been fully landscaped, the footpath has currently not had bitumen laid nor has the crossover been upgraded.
As stated in last month’s update, Stage 2 of the development is currently undergoing some planning amendments and a revised development application is currently been drafted and will hopefully be submitted shortly. As soon as that amended development application is approved construction will commence, which is mostly likely to be in the final quarter of this year.
